Movement’s Death Rattle: Why MOVE Is a Zombie Token You Shouldn’t Touch

PrimePrime Altcoins

MOVE hit $0.0104.

Down 94% from its all-time high of $1.45. MVMT Labs filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on July 15, 2026. The team renamed itself Move Industries and pivoted to stablecoin payments.

That’s not a recovery play. That’s a death certificate.

Context: The Corpse of a Layer-1

Movement was supposed to be a Move-language L1 blockchain. Competing with Aptos and Sui. Raised millions. Launched with hype. Then the market-making scandal hit — 66 million MOVE tokens dumped by an unnamed market maker. Binance froze accounts. The price cratered. Exchanges delisted MOVE one by one.

By June 2026, the original team had already pivoted. Move Industries took over the ecosystem — then immediately announced they were building a stablecoin payment service. No mention of the original chain. No mention of MOVE. The CEO, Torab Torabi, explicitly said Move Industries is a separate entity from the bankrupt MVMT Labs.

Translation: The L1 is dead. The team has moved on. The token is a relic.

Core: The Order Flow That Killed Liquidity

Let’s talk about the market structure. When a token gets delisted from every major exchange — Binance, Kraken, OKX — the liquidity dries up. MOVE now trades only on decentralized exchanges with razor-thin depth. My back-of-the-envelope calculation: a $5,000 market sell would move the price by 20%. That’s not a market; that’s a trap.

The real killer was the market-making event. Someone — probably connected to the project — gave 66 million MOVE to a market maker without proper lockups. That market maker dumped into retail. The price went from $0.12 to $0.02 in days. The team then blamed the market maker and froze its own accounts. But the damage was done. Trust evaporated. Exchanges saw the manipulation and pulled the token.

We don’t trade on hope; we trade on liquidity. MOVE has none.

Now the bankruptcy. MVMT Labs has assets between $100k and $1M but liabilities between $1M and $10M. 92 creditors. Most of them are probably token holders. As unsecured creditors, they’ll get pennies on the dollar — if anything. The court will prioritize legal fees and secured debts. The token holders are last in line.

Contrarian: The “Two Entities” Illusion

Some retail traders are trying to price in the narrative that Move Industries is separate from MVMT Labs. The logic: “The new company is healthy, so maybe the token has value.”

Smart money doesn’t buy that.

Move Industries explicitly said it’s building a stablecoin payment rail. No mention of MOVE. No plan to use the token. The CEO said the new entity is “not a crypto company” but a financial services firm. They’re targeting emerging markets with a stablecoin product — think Stripe for crypto dollars.

If Move Industries succeeds, MOVE holders get nothing. The token has no claim on future revenues. No governance rights. No utility in the new system. It’s a dead asset.

I saw the same pattern during the 2022 Terra collapse. When Luna crashed, some traders tried to buy the dip on the “rebranded” Luna 2.0. That token also went to near zero. The pivot story doesn’t save the old token.

Yield is the rent you pay for holding someone else’s bag. But there’s no yield here. No staking. No farming. No network fees. Just a token with a $45 million market cap and zero fundamental support.

Movement’s Death Rattle: Why MOVE Is a Zombie Token You Shouldn’t Touch

Takeaway: Price Levels and the Final Trade

MOVE is currently at $0.0104. That could drop to $0.001 or lower. The only buyers are degenerate gamblers and bag holders trying to average down. There’s no institutional demand. No exchange relisting. No product roadmap for the token.

If you’re still holding, sell into any bounce. $0.015 is a pipe dream. The liquidity is gone. The team is gone. The chain is a ghost town.

What’s the catalyst for a 10x? Nothing. What’s the risk of a 100% loss? Almost certain.

This isn’t a trade. It’s a funeral. Walk away.
